Highly Realistic Instrument Panels

The simulated aircraft instrument panels are fully functional and designed to seamlessly operate with available PCATD hardware. The instruments have fluid movement and needle rotation with 1/10th degree acuity - perfect for basic attitude instrument flight training.

Onboard GPS

The simulated color GPS is modelled to provide extended VFR functionality and flight navigation reference.

Regional Characteristic Scenery

The flight environment currently covers the contiguous United States. Enjoy flying over lushly rendered, contoured terrain with detailed rivers, coastlines, and mountains. Many metropolitan areas include detailed satellite imagery and 3D obstacles and landmark buildings. Land Use Land Classification (LULC) data has been used to provide region specific terrain.

Complete Facility Coverage

Complete coverage of the ICAO region K airspace is provided. Fly in and out of over 4,500 airports within U.S. airspace. Towers, beacons, and terminal buildings are placed throughout the ground facility database. Taxiways have been constructed for all class B and C airports. The Approach Lighting Systems (ALS) is completely implemented.

Dynamic Weather

Dynamic weather has been implemented to offer time-based and geographic weather transitions. The weather system incorporates rain, lightning, and snow as well as wind shear, altitude specific wind directions and speeds, and low visibility IMC conditions.

Instructor User Interface

The easy-to-use software interface provides instructional control of instrument and system failures, weather dynamics,quick navigation and approach procedure configuration, and flight analysis and playback.
